Youth Programming
Our collaboration with the Renton School District (RSD) and Renton Innovation Zone (RIZP) fosters after-school and summer programming for Elementary and Middle school students. Through the Best Starts for Kids (BSK) &Strengthening High-Needs Achievers through Personal and Physical Enrichment (SHAPE) initiative, we facilitate programs that award social emotional learning, cultivate empathy, and improve the overall health and well-being of each student and their families. Our team also works with youth in custody at the King County Juvenile Detention Center.
Renton School District
Our youth programming in the Renton School District offers a rich tapestry of opportunities for growth and exploration. From robotics and STEM initiatives to mentorship programs like 'Beauty of my Black and Brownness', we provide a safe and nurturing environment for students to thrive academically and emotionally. Engaging in activities like gardening, art connections, and basketball not only cultivates skills and talents but also fosters a sense of community and belonging among students.
Through these diverse programs, we aim to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and leadership skills, preparing our youth for success in an ever-evolving world. By supporting their passions and exposing the youth to instructors that look like them, we empower Renton's youth to discover their potential and become the leaders of tomorrow.
Youth In Custody
Our youth programming within the King County Juvenile Detention Center offers a holistic approach to rehabilitation and personal development. Through a diverse curriculum including classes on healthy relationships, artistic expression, positive personal identity, pro-social skills, independent living skills, alternatives to violence, and support for those impacted by gang or community violence, we provide a comprehensive framework for growth. These programs are designed to equip youth with the tools and knowledge needed to make positive choices, build healthy relationships, and envision a brighter future beyond the justice system. By addressing a range of critical topics, from emotional well-being to practical life skills, we aim to empower youth to break the cycle of incarceration and thrive as productive members of society. Our commitment to nurturing their potential and supporting their journey towards reintegration is fundamental to creating safer and stronger communities for all.
