THE DEPARTMENT OF

Digital Equity

The 4 pillars of digital equity include affordable and sufficient access to internet services, digital and technological skills, access and resources to individual devices, applications, and services. These principals affords the opportunity for employment, healthcare navigation, social, educational, and legal navigation, that addresses the social systems needed and provides resources to meet their basic needs. We work to bridge the digital divide by providing affordable technology resources, hosting workshops, cohorts, events, and community network installations for greatly marginalized and underserved community as their access to these resources have been identified to be non-existent, or high barriers.

Community Network Installations

We partner with Local Connectivity Lab to close the digital divide by bringing reliable internet access to underserved communities, including tiny house villages and marginalized neighborhoods. Through strategic installations, our team ensures that every corner of these communities has access to high-speed Wi-Fi, empowering residents with the essential connectivity they need to thrive in today's digital world. We collaborate closely with community leaders and stakeholders to identify areas of need and design custom solutions that meet the unique requirements of each location. Our installations not only provide internet access but also foster a sense of community and connectivity, enabling residents to stay connected with loved ones, access educational resources, and pursue economic opportunities. By breaking down barriers to internet access, we are leveling the playing field and empowering individuals to participate fully in the digital economy. Our commitment to equity and inclusion drives us to prioritize communities that have historically been underserved or overlooked in the digital landscape. Through our community network installations, we are not just providing internet access; we are empowering communities to unlock their full potential and build a brighter future for generations to come.

Affordable Technology

In partnership with Seattle Community Network and Local Connectivity Lab, we are able to provide community members in need with essential devices such as smartphones and laptops. Through partnerships with manufacturers and suppliers, we source high-quality, refurbished devices and make them available to individuals and families who may otherwise struggle to afford them. By offering these devices at a fraction of the retail cost, we ensure that everyone has the opportunity to access the tools they need to thrive in today's digital world.
