Those foundational skills and tools such as math, reading, and communication, ensure participants are adequately prepared for the technical aspects of the apprenticeship with hands-on, project based technical instruction and safety protocols relevant to the work conducted. Our target is underrepresented communities to promote diversity and inclusion and encompass workforce development and employability.

First Graduating Class

In May 2024, we celebrated the inaugural graduating class of Core Roots Pre-Apprenticeship program, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards skilled trades careers. As a culmination of their training, these students successfully completed their final project: the remodeling of The Tasks House's community kitchen, set to open its doors to the public in Summer 2024. All students have also landed union labor jobs! Under the guidance of experienced mentors, these graduates have honed their skills and demonstrated their commitment to excellence in craftsmanship and teamwork. Their dedication not only revitalizes a vital community space but also paves the way for future generations of apprentices to leave their mark on the world.
